My first introductions into yoga were back in 2007; my history with fitness was that in the early 90's I was a step aerobics teacher, and then BC parks & rec offered a module for yoga. So I thought that would be a great path to follow because we are not young forever and the impact on our joints. And then three years ago I went off work on medical leave - I have MS, and my neurologist said that the stressful environment is not going to be good for me. It wasn't an easy decision. It was my career, my life... and so I needed something to fill my time.
In 2017 I took my 200 hour YTT at a local studio & then started teaching and it fell into place, this whole new passion. And then I met up with Nicole and we just have this amazing connection her and I, and so when she opened this space I was just like ...I didn't have to think about it, I just knew I wanted to be a part of it. I love being here, I love the space. It's funny because people say you have three careers; so my first career was as a dispatcher, then 20 years as a lab tech, and then this is my new "career" which I can't really call it work because it doesn't feel like work to me.
I think we will see less illness, less hate in the world, if we can get the word out there about yoga.
