Probably one of the most obvious answers to why anyone would go to a mini retreat is because quite simply, they need it. Life gets hectic and the demands don’t slow down. You sort of drown in this endless list of things you’re responsible for. Saying ‘enough is enough’ might feel like rebellion but it’s more likely that your soul is telling you it’s time to seek a little time for you.
A mini retreat is perfect because it takes up just a few days of your time. You have the chance to immerse yourself in something you care about without getting too behind in your life. There is so much more to gain from a mini retreat that you haven’t even discovered yet. Here are the benefits you can expect when you take a little time for yourself.
Once you’ve decided to go on a mini retreat for yourself, you get to decide what you’d like to experience. I like to offer a variety of things in my mini retreats. Hiking, energy healing, yoga, and discussion with other participants are just a few things that I offer my retreat guests. If you’ve never done anything like a retreat for yourself, the world really is your oyster.
If you love to be outside, choose a mini retreat that promotes the great outdoors. It doesn’t have to be far from where you live either. With so many retreats available, you really just have to do a little searching.
Inevitably, you’ll have the opportunity to learn something about yourself. It might the essence of yourself that you had long forgot about. Being around different people will show you a new reflection of yourself. This allows for self-growth just for walking through the door. Not to worry because people are always so wonderful in a mini retreat. Especially if the retreat is based on spirituality, yoga, or health -based.
The teachers create a safe environment and I think that really helps bring the group together harmoniously. Learning about yourself through the activities is also something the organizers will try to promote. By changing the way you think or do something, this can lead to radical change.
A mini retreat is almost like going to camp but for adults, with no kids welcome. That’s a good thing. You want to relax with like-minded people right? You’ll get really close to the people you attend a mini retreat with. There’s a certain kind of togetherness and knowing you experience. You’ll probably be challenged at one point whether it’s a long hike or an emotional trigger through some therapeutic exercise.
The people within the mini retreat will hold the space for you among all your challenges and that builds friendships. There are so many times people meet at these weekend retreats and become lifelong friends.
A mini retreat will prime you for your busy life. Once you experience the soul change, you’ll have a new appreciation for the life you’re invested in. You’ll have a greater sense of awareness. Whatever it was you experienced during your mini retreat will stay with you. It will be a part of your inner knowing.
Mini retreats are not very expensive so you can do it a few times a year to get the energy back. It’s especially important as the winter months drag on. It’s not easy to keep your motivation and energy up with days of darkness that winter brings. Having a mini retreat to break up the time can be highly advantageous.
